I never knew that such a detail finding has been done on Bhalla Clan. It was such a informative sight that one can learn a lot about the ancestors and also the where about of the next generation. I'll also post about my family;
But I really feel bad that why didn't I know about this site earlier because my entire family was in Toronto from 26 June to 30 of June where my daughter had gone to attend the youth G 20 summit. I wish I was able to meet u in person there

Hi,this is some great stuff!
I am extremely interested in looking for my family's roots and contribute in this research..
My grandfather's name is Ved Prakash Bhalla and he had 3 sons, 1 daughter: Virendar Kumar Bhalla, Narendar Kumar Bhalla, Surinder Kumar Bhalla (my father) and Kanta Khosla.
If anyone has any information connecting to my grand father, I would really appreciate it!

I am the daughter of Sh.Dev Dutt Bhalla,granddaughter of Sh.Baburam Bhalla,great grand daughter of Sh. Gulabrai Bhalla of Shri Hargovindpur.I tried to locate any familiar names but without any success.From Shri Hargovindpur,my Grandfather shifted to Gurdaspur,and then,our family shifted to Pathankot in 1951.
Our Chachaji Sh.Rudder dutt Bhalla recently passed away. My father passed away in 2002.My youngest Chachaji Sh. Hari Dutt Bhalla is staying in Pathankot.

I enjoyed going through your site. You have a lot of information. I can trace my ancestors to the mid 1800's. I have no idea where they originated. I am African American. I know there is white & indian in my roots.
I recently got in touch with some family through Ancestry.com whom I have never met. They are on my grandmothers, mother's side. One of them is also related to me on my grandfathers fathers side. I plan to meet them sometime in 2010.

I am the youngest grandson of Lala Bishandas Bhalla. I am single and am a sculptor by profession. I live in London and I travel extensively to Europe/India to work with tribal people of Bastar (Chattis Garh). I have recently, infact last month visited my birth place in Panjab SRIHARGOBINDPUR. I visited the school, and the stadium which was built by my grandfather Lala Bishandas Bhalla. The school is rare as a sight, it was initially built for girls in the late 18th/early 19th century.
My eldest brother Darshan Bhalla, who is almost 79 years old has done lot of new construction within that school, , keeping the harmony of the original architecture. He regularly visits the village from Mumbai, to carry on working and improving what ever he could in the village, he has built rooms and has a statue of our grand father installed within the ground of the school. He further has many plans to built and to introduce facilities such as library and awards for the top rank students of this beautifully built school in this village.
Although the old architecture of the village is gradually disintegrating, still the village has it's own charm and character. I took some images while I was there with my British friend, A painter by profession. He also loved the village. If any of you are interested please let me know, I will forward the images with time to you.
I am very proud of my brother Darshan Bhalla just like I am very proud of Baldev Bhalla who is putting in lot of effort to get the Bhalla's together to form a link for lot of us. Any other stories are welcome

I am one of the descendents of The Bhalla Family of Sri Hargobindpur.
My father's name is Krishan Singh Bhalla,
Grandfather: Sh Saran Dass Bhalla,
Great Grandfather: Sh Gulab Singh Bhalla.
Saran Dass Bhalla migrated to Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, around 1900, after which we our family has stayed on in Himachal Pradesh.
I am a doctor in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Himachal Pradesh. I have not been able to find any link to Great Grandfather: Sh Gulab Singh Bhalla. I would like some more information.
Kindly update me regarding our ancestors.

It is really very soothing to see someone working to find its root and putting it on the net.

One of the sons, Swami Bhalla is my father and actually goes by the name Ajit Kumar Bhalla.
Ajit Kumar Bhalla is married to Shashi Bhalla and settled in London, UK.
They have 2 sons
Lalit Bhalla (elder, myself) - born 14/12/1975 and now married to Anishka Bhalla and we have a baby boy, Eesh Bhalla born 2nd June 2007. We are settled in Wales, UK.

my name is Bawa Gagandeep Singh Bhalla. i am 26 year old indian student in australia. i came to know about ur website on internet as i was researching about my roots. My family is Bawa Bhalla family and our ancestors were from Harghobindpur. But i don't have much info about them. i talked to my dad about this and i came to know we are from Shri Guru Amar Das ji 's family. Bawa Sawan Mal nephew of Shri Guru Amar Das ji were our great great grandfather. my grandfather's dad Bawa Tara Singh Bhalla was from harghobindpur. my grandfather' s name was Bawa Prem Singh . they moved from harghobindpur to beas, from beas to harike, harike to makhu and from makhu to mallanwala khas in ferozpur where my father Bawa Kuljit singh Bhalla has timber merchant business which i think has been our ancestoru business i don't know from when.my grandfather's brother Bawa Gurbaksh Singh 's family is still based in Harghobindpur but i have no info about them.
i have only this much information so far and i will let u know more, whenever i come to know about this . If u have more info regarding my great granfathers please let me know.

My name is kiran kumar bhalla son of late shri rajinder singh bhalla , grand son of late bawa khushal singh bhalla of sri hargobindpur ( gurdasspur ).Unfortunately i don't know much about my roots all i know is we are bawa bhallas from hargobindpur and decendants of guru amardass bhalla . My grand father migrated to lala moosa ( now in pakistan ) as he was posted there as station master. my father migrated from abotabad (pakistan) to dehradun in 1947 as his office (survey of India )shifted there . I was brought-up and educated in dehradun .In 1976 i took -up job in Dubai in a american petroleum company in 1990 i change the job and started working in another american petroleum company in Doha ,State of Qatar. till date i am in Doha with my wife bela ( daughter of late shri narain singh sehgal) and daughter mehak ( x1th standard ) . back home in dehradun i have my mother , one brother and one sister ( married to sanjeev kapur, SBI bombay ).Again i felt proud of the great deeds done by our ancestors all was possible after reading your website.HOpe to get more information about our clan .I have a fadded memory once my RESPECTED tayaJI late shri bahadur singh bhalla mentioned to me that our great grand father's name was S kartar singh bhalla but not sure i will try to confirm from my mother if she could recall.

I was for about 9-10 years in Canada, US and I was always trying to contact Bhalla's there to know family roots.

I belong to Patiala and there is a street called Bhalla street.
Right now, I am working as Director for a German aerospace comapny in Bangalore for last one year after coming back from Montreal (where I was working with Bombardier aerospace). Now, we are designing A380, superjumbo plane in Germany and Bangalore.

Gurdaspur. My Great Grand Fathers name was Bawa Hardyal Bhalla, my Grand Fathers name was Bawa Kuldeep Rai Bhalla. And my Fathers Name was Chand Bhalla. We were the leading timber merchants in Batala but closed our business in 1986. Hi, I visited your website and found it excellent. It shows hard work and diligence involved in creating the family tree. I have few questions and hope I will hear from you soon.
My Mother (Usha Bhalla-Kapur) is also from Bhalla family of Ludhiana. According to my knowledge, my maternal grandfather was a descendent of Sikhism’s third guru, Guru Amar Dar Ji. My grandfather’s name was Sri. Tara Singh Bhalla, who was also a Sikh. I guess my question is, are we all descendants of the same Guru? I do know that my maternal family is originally from Gondwal, Punjab.
Additionally, are we related?
I live with my husband in Miami, Florida. I guess when one is far away from their homeland, roots beckon you and we look for ‘family’.
Your response will be greatly appreciated.

Hi ! Interesting site about the Bhalla family and intrigued that as well as me that there is also other Bawa Bhalla's related to Guru Amar Das Ji.
My name is Rajkiran Bhalla I was born at the Ohri hospital, Jullundur in 1972,my late father is Shadi Lal Bhalla (1935-1998)who was from Jullundur, a cricketer for the State of Punjab,D.A.V college and Ranji Trophy(wicket keeper & batsman). My grandfather's name was Bawa Sant Singh Bhalla, an advocate in Jullundur.(at present I don't have his dates of birth or death). His other children's names are as follows:Shiv Mohan Singh Bhalla, (Late)Nirinjan Singh Bhalla,Gurbaksh Singh Bhalla,Dhanwant Singh Bhalla & Balbir Singh Bhalla.
I would like to hear from other Bhalla's who maybe related to my family or know of them. |

My great-grand-father is Bawa Sewak Singh Bhalla, of Lahore, my grand-father is Terlocan Singh Bhalla. My great uncles are: Gulshan Bear Singh Bhalla, Ram Rush Pal Singh Bhalla and Yas Pal Singh Bhalla.
My father is Kenneth Sunny Bhalla, he grew up in London; we now live outside of Houston Texas.
